Travel Nursing RN Position
If you are looking for a Travel Nursing RN Position we recommend you take the time to first look over our site.
The two main questions I ask myself when considering a travel nurse position are:
Where do I want to go?
This sounds like an obvious question which should be easy to answer, but there are many things to consider. Do you like living in the country or the city? Is the place you are going considered safe? No bulletproof vest for this gal, thank you very much!
Housing and transportation are things to consider as they can be a major expense. Will you need a vehicle? If so, will you have a car allowance?
Sometimes we travel for the adventure. Although it is a good idea to look ahead and consider the fact that you may want to be closer to family and friends for your assignment.
For example, will you be working over the holidays or can you plan your shifts in order to be home for Christmas? For the past five years I have worked every Christmas. We will be home this year with our new granddaughter and our family.
What shifts am I willing to work?
This is a big one because many Travel Nurse RN Positions are twelve-hour night shifts. Travelers also fill in around holidays so if your contract includes holidays you will most likely be working.
The shifts you choose to work are a personal preference but if you are looking for a day shift job, start early. This will limit the number of locations available to you.
Now the good news! There are always lots of opportunities and Travel Nursing RN Positions available all over the U.S.!
