Your resume should have:
1. Professional Summary 2. Details of the applicants experience and education 3. Personal Information 4. Nurse Cover Letter
1. The Professional Summary is used to make sure that the education and experience fits the job. If the job is asking for an ONCOLOGY NURSE position, make sure you highlight these qualifications so the reader can easily and quickly read and verify that you are qualified for the position. This will result in your resume being added to the short list of applicants.
2. The details of the applicant’s experience and education must apply to the job being offered. Always take the time to streamline your application for the job being offered. One huge error is handing in the same resume for different jobs. Each resume you send should be unique. Human resource departments have trained people to spot a good resume.
3. At the end of the resume is where you would put some of the personal information such as relevant affiliations, community service and possibly hobbies if relevant to the job.
Note: A resume should be done as a MICROSOFT WORD document. Web Job Boards,Travel Nurse Recruiters, and HR departments require a word document. Make sure you do some research on the company or healthcare facility before you complete your resume.Remember your resume should be a fit for the job for which you are applying.
4. Always send your resume with a nurse cover letter.
